What is a certified translation?
A certified translation includes:
A professionally translated document
A signed statement from the translator or agency confirming its accuracy and completeness
The date, credentials, and contact information of the certifying party
This is typically required by:
Immigration offices
Courts and legal institutions
Financial regulators and tax authorities
Universities and licensing boards

What is the difference between a notarized translation and a true copy?
A notarized translation includes two key steps:
A translation with an affidavit from the translator stating that the translation is accurate and complete.
That affidavit is then signed in the presence of a notary, who verifies the identity of the translator and officially notarizes the document.
This doesn’t mean the notary verifies the translation itself — only that the translator signed the certification in front of them. This format is often required for legal processes, immigration cases, and official applications abroad.

A true copy is a document that’s been certified by a notary as an exact copy of the original. It’s commonly used when you need to submit official documents (like a diploma, ID, or license) but can’t provide the original. Here’s what it includes:
A stamp and signature from a licensed notary
A statement that the copy is a “true copy of the original”
The date and details of the notary
📌 Note: A true copy does not involve translation — but it’s often combined with a certified translation for official submissions.
