Client: Hamilton Centre for Civic Inclusion (HCCI) — community organization focused on equity, inclusion, anti-racism education, and civic engagement initiatives in Hamilton, Ontario.
Goal: The client required the translation of a series of educational social media posts from English into Punjabi (Indian), Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, and Bengali. The campaign explored the rise of anti-South Asian racism in Hamilton, Ontario through both historical and ongoing social trends.
What we did:Our team translated approximately 1,900 words of source content from English into five target languages: Punjabi (Indian), Urdu, Gujarati, Hindi, and Bengali.
The project included:
- Translation of culturally sensitive educational social media content discussing racism, immigration, labour exploitation, media representation, and anti-immigrant narratives in Canada
- Preservation of the tone, accessibility, and community-oriented messaging of the original posts
- Careful localization to ensure the translations remained clear, respectful, and understandable across different linguistic and cultural groups
- Consistency management across multiple languages to maintain unified messaging throughout the campaign
- Translation of approximately 1,900 words into each target language while preserving clarity and readability for social media audiences
The translated materials covered topics including multiculturalism, immigration history, labour conditions, media stereotypes, hate crimes, and online misinformation affecting South Asian communities in Hamilton.
Result: The client received professionally translated multilingual social media content ready for publication and community outreach. The final translations helped make the campaign accessible to a wider South Asian audience in Hamilton, supporting inclusive communication and encouraging community awareness and engagement around anti-racism issues.
